About this product

"Walk me through the most complex Flow you've built." "What happens when 200 records hit your flow at once?" "What does your flow do when it fails?" These questions decide Flow interviews, for admins moving into development and for developers alike, and they are hard to answer well without having built something where the answers mattered. This kit is that build.

What you build

When a deal is won, a customer onboarding starts by itself: the checklist the deal's size deserves, from custom metadata, with due dates that skip weekends and holidays. Progress and status keep themselves up to date as tasks are finished, through a roll-up on a lookup relationship. A scheduled path escalates any onboarding that hasn't started three days after kickoff, a screen flow logs blockers in one click, and tasks can't be deleted without a custom permission. Every fault path writes to one error log, so a failure never stops a deal saving. Win 200 deals in one save and it stays well inside the limits.

What is in the kit

  • The spec: user stories, 17 acceptance criteria, the data model and the automation contract, written like a real ticket
  • A starter Salesforce DX project: the data model, custom metadata, permission sets, app, layouts and all 47 tests are ready; you build the eleven flows in Flow Builder, and one small Apex action
  • Tests that check your work: each failing test names the step that fixes it, and says when a flow is missing, inactive or the wrong kind, so you always know what is left
  • The finished solution: all eleven flows, passing all 47 tests, run end to end in a real org
  • A 27-page build guide (PDF): set-up, the design and the reasons behind it, nine build steps, running it in your org, and the lessons found while building it
  • Interview notes: a 30-second pitch, a two-minute walkthrough, and 15 questions this project invites, with strong answers
