GenAI System Design: The Interview Playbook with Pankaj Kharkwal

System design interviews now include GenAI. You'll be asked to design RAG pipelines, serve LLMs at scale, and defend cost and failure trade-offs. This playbook covers exactly what that round tests.

Inside

• Production architecture: end-to-end AI pipelines (ingestion → embeddings → vector DB → inference → orchestration), GPU scheduling and autoscaling
• LLM failure modes: hallucination cascades, grounding failures, context collapse, vector hot partitions, and recovery patterns
• Cost and business impact: GPU cost governance, model hosting, caching and batching decisions
• The modern interview: LLM integration under pressure, multimodal workload design, cost vs performance, debugging RAG and latency issues

For: Big Tech and AI-company candidates, senior engineers, architects, founders and CTOs.

Format: PDF, readable on any device. Ask questions about any chapter with AI Assist on this page.

Author: Pankaj Kharkwal. Ex-Microsoft engineer, 10+ years across Microsoft, Oracle, EY and Citrix, founder of Pankh.AI, 200+ technical interviews conducted.
