Diploma to B.Tech Lateral Entry Roadmap

Do you want to enter the 2nd year of B.Tech after your Diploma but feel confused about entrance exams, counseling, colleges, and branch selection? This roadmap is based on my personal experience. I joined the 2nd year of B.Tech CSE (AI/ML) via lateral entry after completing my Diploma (2023–2026). This isn't generic advice; it’s an honest, step-by-step guide.

What’s Included:

• What is Lateral Entry: Rules, benefits, and how to find the process for your specific state
• Timeline: A schedule of what to do and when—from your last two semesters up to joining college
• College & Branch Selection: Placement records, Government vs. Private, and location factors
• Common Mistakes: Errors I made so you don't have to
• Document Checklist + My actual admission example (GT4CE, Delhi)
• Syllabus Gap Strategy: Engineering Mathematics and programming basics
