Creative Strategist for design led practices

The design is considered. Is the writing doing it justice?
Architectural work involves hundreds of decisions, ideas and intentions. Communicating those decisions clearly is a skill of its own.
Whether you're writing a project description, preparing a portfolio, working on an architectural article or trying to explain a design approach, the challenge is often the same: how do you communicate the substance of the work without reducing it to generic descriptions?
As an architect turned writer, I've worked on architectural storytelling and written project narratives for design practices. In this session, we'll review your writing together and discuss how you can make it clearer, more engaging and more faithful to the work.
This session is for you if:
• You're an architecture or interior design student working on your portfolio.
• You're an architect who wants to communicate projects more effectively.
• You're preparing project descriptions for a website or publication.
• You're an emerging writer interested in architecture and design.
• You want feedback on your writing style, structure or clarity.
What we'll review:
• How clearly the design intent comes through.
• Whether the writing communicates meaningful project decisions.
• Structure, flow, clarity and readability.
• Generic descriptions or repetitive language that could be more specific.
• How well the writing connects the design to its context, use or experience.
• Opportunities to make the narrative more distinctive.
What you'll leave with: A clearer understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of your writing, specific areas to improve and a better framework for approaching similar pieces in the future.
How the session works: We'll review one piece of writing or one focused portfolio section together. I'll explain my observations, suggest ways to approach the problem and help you understand the reasoning behind the edits you may need to make.
What this session is not: I won't rewrite your project description, edit your entire portfolio, write an article for you or provide a full copyediting service during the call. The focus is on feedback, discussion and helping you develop your own writing.
Before the session: Send one piece of writing or a focused portfolio section in advance, along with its intended audience and purpose. Please ensure you have permission to share the material if it belongs to a client or publication.
